Dr. Chen’s care philosophy is to treat patients as she would her own family members. At each appointment, patients can feel that she genuinely cares about her patients and their health. Dr. Chen earned her DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) in 2001 and her PhD in Pharmacology in 1996 from the University of Manitoba, Canada. Dr. Chen also has a medical degree from Nanchang University Medical School in China.
She has participated in numerous dental conferences and courses worldwide in order to incorporate the newest technologies and leading advances in dentistry into her practice.

She is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), North Carolina Dental Association, Charlotte Dental Association and American Association of General Dentistry (AGD). Dr. Chen is a partner of Nobel Biocare, one of the world’s largest dental implant companies.

Dr. Ricardo Perez is an avid learner who is driven to use his knowledge to improve people’s well-being and comfort. He strives to be genuine and caring to everyone he meets, and while his dribbling and basketball skills will leave you unimpressed, his gentle hands and dental expertise will provide exceptional, compassionate care.
Dr. Perez continually expands his dental knowledge through advanced continuing education. He is also actively involved in providing dental service to the community through Donated Dental Service, Give Kids a Smile, Dental Lifeline Network and Health Outreach through Medical Education (H.O.M.E.).
Dr. Perez was born in Colombia, raised in Canada and is grateful to the USA home since 2012. He is very happily married to a wonderful speech therapist, and his life goal is to court his wife and create magic and whimsy for their children. When he is not working or learning something new, he and his wife are outdoor enthusiasts in search of fun trails, unique dinners or fun experiences that will not elicit eye rolls from their children.

Tanya came to us from California where she and her husband and their two children lived for 25 yrs before relocating to Charlotte for her husband’s job. She went to California State University of Northridge for Business management and has been in the dental field since 1988. She will greet with you a smile and call you by name when you enter the door as if she’s been expecting you, our VIP (Very Important Patient). She has a passion for helping others so she will do her utmost for you at all times. Her knowledge with insurance will serve you best when it’s time to choose your dental policy.
She likes to pay attention to detail so that your experience with our dental office will be caring and relaxing.
When Tanya is not at work, she likes to go ice skating and to visit her grown children in Texas and Virginia. She also has served the homeless with her church.
Kim has been part of the Bright Dental Charlotte team for 11 years. She graduated from Central Piedmont Community College where she earned her Dental Hygiene Degree and received the prestigious Golden Scaler dental hygiene student award.

Likewise, the staff at Dr. Chen’s practice is skilled, caring, and hard-working. They will go out of their way to help patients, from explaining treatment plans to helping with insurance plans. The facilities are modern and equipped with the latest technologies, including 3D imaging techniques and the CEREC system for crowns in one visit.
